The Story

Imagine this: you're at a bustling sports stadium, cheering for your favourite team, and you think, "I could really go for a cold one right now." Well, that's where we came in! MSCSPORTS reached out to us on behalf of Castle, a much-loved beer brand in South Africa. They were spearheading the "Castle Zone" activation – a unique experience where certain seats in the stadium were transformed into the ultimate fan zone. We were tasked with bringing this experience to life through an innovative app.

We got the brief. And we had 2 weeks to pull it off! No problem :)

The Objective

The Dream: A Stadium Revolution

Our vision was bold and clear – to create an app that would revolutionise the stadium experience. Picture UberEats, but for your stadium seat. Yes, you heard that right! The Castle Zone app was designed to let fans order their favourite drinks right to their seats, bypassing queues and crowds. We also needed to manage stock levels, runners and bar tenders. It was all about enhancing the fan experience, making sure you never miss a moment of the game by creating a fluid symphony of pour, fetch and deliver.

The Process

Innovation on the Fast Track

Our journey wasn't your typical stroll in the park. It was a race against time. With only two weeks before the British and Irish Lions series, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. We flew down to Bloemfontein for the first match, buzzing with excitement. There, we trained bartenders and runners, transforming them into tech-savvy drink deliverers. It was a whirlwind of training sessions, piloting at Loftus, and troubleshooting on the go.

The Challenges

Challenges? More Like Opportunities!

Every great story has its twists and turns. Ours was no different. We quickly realised that mobile signals were shy performers in crowded stadiums. But did we back down? Not a chance! We experimented with everything from satellite connections to setting up our own Satelite Wi-Fi network. Picture us, setting up routers in a packed stadium - it was a scene straight out of a tech-heist movie!

The Result

The Sweet Taste of Success (and Beer)

As the stadiums filled up and the cheers grew louder, our app sprang to life. Those early birds who got to use the app uninterrupted were thrilled. It was a glimpse into the future of stadium experiences. Yes, we faced challenges, but the moments of success made it all worthwhile.
